We are currently seeking to recruit a Staff Nurse working a minimum of 2 nights per week to join our busy in-patient unit. The successful candidate should be an enthusiastic and committed registered nurses interested in the challenging but rewarding field of palliative care. The nurses we are seeking should be flexible with good communication skills and have the ability to work as a member of a team.

To be employed at Band 5/6 equivalent you will have had post-registration experience which should have been in the field of specialist palliative care/oncology. Appropriate Diploma level Palliative Care modules or equivalent are essential.

Social Worker – NHS Jobs J181-A-16-9138

We are looking for an experienced Social Worker (Band 6 equivalent) with excellent interpersonal skills to join our psychosocial team. You will be adept at working with the wider multi-disciplinary team as well as managing your own caseload. The principle responsibilities of the successful applicant will be to provide psychological, psychosocial and practical help to patients their families, including children, both within the hospice and in the patients’ homes, as required.

Previous experience of working with terminally ill patients and their families is desirable.

FUNDRAISING

Head of Retail – Salary: £40,000-45,000 depending on experience

St Raphael's Hospice, based in North Cheam, Surrey are seeking to recruit a new Head of Retail. The Hospice has 12 charity shops with an annual turnover of approximately £1.1 million’ net profit (2014-15) of £230,000, with approximately 20 staff (FTE). The Hospice is keen to continue to expand its thriving retail division and maximise its income and profits.

The Head of Retail is a key member of the Fundraising team, with responsibility for managing and supporting the retail team.

Community & Events Fundraising Assistant

Salary £18,000-20,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Full-time 37.5 hour per week with ability to work flexibly when required; this may include mid-week evenings, and also weekends

This role will provide support, primarily to the Community Fundraising Manager and also to Events. The successful applicant will work across the fundraising team to help support and deliver community fundraising, events, thank supporters and increase community awareness of the hospice.

This is an ideal role for someone keen to develop a career in charity fundraising.

St Raphael’s Hospice has 12 Charity Shops and vacancies occur for Managers and Assistant Managers from time to time.

We are also always seeking VOLUNTEERS to help in all our hops. Please also contact Jan Cunningham if you are interested in helping as a volunteer in one of our shops. Typically a volunteer will help for a half day, once per week.

COMMUNICATIONS
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
  • Catering assistant volunteers to do a 4 hour shift in our new Orangery Café opening in September- training in August

 

  • Hospice Neighbour Volunteers to give approx. 2 hours a week to visit patients in the community who are isolated and help them with small tasks.

 

  • Volunteer Complementary Therapist
  • Needed 3 hours a week, Jubilee Centre

  • Volunteer Hairdresser
  • Required to be available to be called in to the hospice  on some Thursday afternoons 2-4pm.  To wash, cut and set hair of patients attending the Jubilee Centre  and on the ward. A small dedicated salon, equipment and hair products are available on the ward.

 

  • HOSPICE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - RECEPTION
  • Occasional volunteer receptionists weekdays and weekends to do a 4 hour shift when regular volunteers are away.
